Within R&R, geofencing is utilized to verify whether an employee is authorized to clock in at a specific location. For each physical site in R&R, a single GPS coordinate can be set, allowing employees to clock in within that defined area.
When an employee opens the R&R Job App and navigates to the 'clocking' section, the app will check if the phone is within the designated radius of one of the physical locations. If it is, the clock-in button will be available. If not, a notification will appear, informing the employee that clocking in is only permitted on-site as per the employer's settings. This location check is only performed when an employee attempts to clock in. There is no geolocation verification for clocking out, registering breaks, or switching departments.
It's important to note that the R&R Job App solely determines whether an employee is permitted to clock in based on location. The app does not use geolocation to track where an employee has worked. The location displayed in the work record is still based on the scheduled shifts.
