In the updated absence overview, a new section has been added: Balance [year] (for example, 'Balance 2026'). This allows you to see each employee's leave balance at a glance, including accrued hours, approved leave, pending requests and adjustments.
You can find this overview at the top of the list, for each department or store, with all employees and their individual balances displayed underneath.
Understanding the columns
The balance consists of six columns. Below is an explanation of what each column represents:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| cur | Current: the current leave balance up to and including the most recently processed payroll. |
| incr | Accrued: the expected leave accrual for the selected year. |
| appr | Approved: the approved leave for the selected year. |
| req | Requested: all pending leave requests for the selected year. |
| corr | Corrections: all adjustments that have not yet been finalised for the selected year. |
| end | Ending balance: the expected leave balance up to the end of the selected year. |
How the ending balance is calculated:
end = cur + incr − appr + corr − req
A pending request (req) is deducted from the ending balance, so you can immediately see what the balance will be once the request is approved, without the request having been formally processed yet.
Example
For an employee with a current balance of 25:16, an accrual of 58:09, 80:00 hours of approved leave and a pending request of 16:00, the ending balance is:
25:16 + 58:09 − 80:00 + 0:00 − 16:00 = −12:35
You can view not only your holiday balance, but also compare different types of leave side by side, such as annual leave and time off in lieu (TOIL) accrued through additional hours or allowances.
Viewing and adjusting leave balances
In the new absence overview, you can now easily view and directly adjust leave balances.
You can:
- View employees' leave balances in a single overview.
- Choose which columns you want to display and show or hide them as needed.
- Sort employees by balance, making it easy to see who still has a balance and how much.
- Click on a leave balance and adjust it directly whenever a correction is needed.
- View TOIL balances and pay out TOIL directly from the absence overview.
This gives you quick insight into employees' leave balances and allows you to take action immediately.

Sorting by balance
Click on a column to automatically sort employees by their balance.
Why is this useful?
- You can immediately see whether an employee is likely to have a negative balance, even before a leave request has been approved.
- You no longer need to calculate separately how a pending request will affect the ending balance.
- You can easily sort employees by their expected ending balance, for example, to quickly identify outstanding TOIL balances.
- You can pay out TOIL directly from the absence overview.
- Corrections are visible in the overview, making it clear why a balance differs from the expected amount.
